On October 26, 2011, the Sustainable Energy Initiative held its second seminar event of the SEI seminar series, “Post-election De-brief”. The event took place from 12:30-2:30pm in a packed out Stedman Studio room at York University, which offered a live webcast feed. This event featured four panellists, including SEI Co-Chair and FES faculty member Jose Etcheverry, to discuss the results of the 2011 provincial election and the future of sustainable energy in Ontario. Guest panellists included Marion Fraser (Fraser & Company President, former senior policy advisor to the Ministry of Energy and member of SEI Advisory Committee), Tyler Hamilton (FES adjunct professor, Toronto Star clean energy and technology columnist) & Kristopher Stevens (Ontario Sustainable Energy Association Executive Director). FES Faculty member and SEI Co-Chair, Mark Winfield moderated the panel discussion. The event was another huge success and offered many key insights into the future developments of the Green Energy Act in Ontario under a Liberal minority government, including the role of the OPA.
