Preben Maegaard is Denmark's leading renewable energy and wind expert. In this unique presentation in Toronto Prof. Maegaard will provide an overview of how wind power has grown from a modest cottage industry in the 1970s to one of the most important sustainability sectors of the 21st Century. Prof. Maegaard's decades of experience as an international renewable energy expert are now summarized in his new book titled: Wind Power for the World. |
Since 1984 he has been director of the Nordic Folkecenter for Renewable Energy, www.folkecenter.net and www.folkecenter.dk In this capacity he has been responsible for the technological innovation of windmills, including design, construction and implementation of sizes from 20 to 525 kW, farm biogas digesters from 50 to 1.000 m3 as well as integrated energy systems including hydrogen and biofuels for transport.
