On November 18th 2011 from 9:30am-12noon, York University’s Faculty of Environmental Studies/Sustainable Energy Initiative hosted a “train the trainers” Sol Metric site assessment training session, with host Jose Etcheverry (FES Faculty, SEI Co-Chair).
About 15 undergraduate and graduate students took part in a site assessment for solar development potential at the parking lot situated west of the Scott Library, at York University. Data was then analyzed and a report was created to determine energy output.
The SunEye 210 is an integrated Shade Analysis Tool for solar site assessment. SunEye Solmetric is a powerful hand-held device that provides complete solar access and shade analysis. The analysis can be used for solar panel system design and installation, passive solar house design and green architecture, landscape design and landscape architecture. "
