Jack Gibbons speaks on the Clean Air Alliance's plan to move Ontario to a 100% renewable energy grid by the year 2027. In the past, Mr Gibbons has worked as Toronto Hydro Commissioner; a Senior Economic Adviser for the Canadian Institute of Environmental Law and Policy; is a member of the Ontario Energy Board Staff; and an Economist for Energy Probe.
Sustainable Energy Initiative
The Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change's Sustainable Energy Initiative (SEI) has been established to build and strengthen the teaching, research and partnerships needed to create new green energy economies in Canada and around the world. Focused on energy efficiency and conservation, renewable energy sources and combined heat and power.
The SEI is Designed to:
* Advance sustainable energy solutions through research;
* Educate and train the new cohort of sustainable energy practitioners needed to respond to the demand created by the Ontario Green Energy Act and similar initiatives in other jurisdictions;
* Build sustainable energy partnerships among educational institutions, government agencies, business and industry, and non-governmental organizations; and
* Enhance learning opportunities for professionals working in the sustainable energy industry.
